Child protection and legal support


To strengthen social safety nets protecting vulnerable children from abuse and exploitation and to increase access to legal support and civil restitution for vulnerable children and their households


Our actions:

- Child protection activities: we conduct within schools and communities activities and trainings about child protection that directly address capacity gaps identified and increase their awareness around child protection concerns and legal services

- Mapping: police churches mosques probation officer

- Birth registration: we assist the households to register each child to the national identification regulatory authority and legalize the family situation with the adequate authority

- Home visits: we provide counseling, legal support and referrals provision support services to empower families to access protection and legal redress services


Our results in 2018:

- 276 vulnerable children obtained their legal birth registration documents

- 92 children linked to critical services with an outstanding 86% completion rate

- 3 432 community members trained to identify and report incidents of child rights violations

- 699 vulnerable children’s households reached to strengthen their roles as first line of prevention and response to vulnerability

- 3 277 vulnerable children reached with child protection, legal support, care and psychosocial services
